• All students can learn and effective teachers can reach every student.
• Every child can lead. Teachers need to guide students in reaching as high as they can reach in the area they want to reach for.
• Each child is a unique indivudual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulation atmosphere in which to grow and mature.
• It is important that students do not only gain knowledge as it relates to general curriculum, but also gain the knowledge and skills that will help them in their interactions with others.
• Children learn in a variety of ways and as a teacher, I need to address each style to the best of my ability to maximize student learning.
• Developing curriculum around student interests fosters intrinsic motivation and stimulates a passion for learning.
• An effective teacher relates all learning to the real world and by doing so makes learning concrete and meaningful to students.
• Using art, music and movement are essential to any learning environment.
• It is necessary to use assessment to guide instruction.
• Teaching and Learning should be fun.
